There are many places where you can get information on teaching kids chess. Chess is a very educational game that teaches kids strategy and thinking ahead. This is lost in many of today’s games where the next scene or roll of the dice determines what happens.
If you and your child like books, there are many wonderful ones that teach kids chess with full-color illustrations. Some of them are very technical, and others use stories and fun characters to familiarize children with chess rules and pieces. Which is best will depend on your child’s age and learning style.
To get them even more interested in the game, you can buy a kids’ chess set. These sometimes have exaggerated pieces that are very easily identified for very young children. These sets often come with instructional books or DVDs that you can watch while they learn.
